GrooveDeck Isolation Platform

Description

The GrooveDeck Isolation Platform interposes a mass-loaded bamboo deck between your turntable and the surface beneath it, mounted on four sorbothane hemisphere feet. Every footstep, bass note from a nearby speaker, or surface vibration that reaches the turntable platter is picked up by the stylus as low-frequency noise — the mechanism behind the feedback loop that causes speakers to create rumble through the deck at high listening volumes. The Isolation Platform breaks this loop at its source without requiring wall-mounting or a dedicated equipment rack.

Why Sorbothane and Bamboo Work Together

Sorbothane is a viscoelastic polymer that converts mechanical vibration into heat — it has a high loss factor across the frequency range where turntable stylus pickup is most sensitive (1–80 Hz). Bamboo is chosen over MDF for its higher natural damping coefficient and significantly lower acoustic resonance frequency:

– Four 40 mm hemisphere sorbothane feet — rated to the total weight of the platform plus turntable up to 12 kg
– Solid bamboo deck — 25 mm thick, grain-laminated for dimensional stability and reduced resonance
– Non-slip surface treatment on both the bamboo top and the feet base rings — prevents lateral sliding
– Chamfered edges and sanded finish — no sharp corners, consistent appearance in any listening room
– Absorption bandwidth of 3–80 Hz — covers tonearm resonance frequency and low-frequency bass pickup

Size Options

The GrooveDeck Isolation Platform is available in two sizes to accommodate different turntable footprints:

– Standard (40 × 35 cm) — fits most compact and mid-size belt-drive turntables up to 4 kg
– Large (50 × 40 cm) — for larger decks including most direct-drive turntables up to 12 kg
