Description
The AuraFold Portable Bluetooth Speaker is designed from the outside in. The first question was not “what drivers fit in this enclosure?” — it was “what does this need to survive?” The answer: nightly storage in a rucksack, rain, beach sand, three-day camping trips with no mains charging, and the kind of handling that happens when music is actually part of life rather than a controlled listening environment. The acoustic engineering came second, and it came from the constraints the first question imposed.
Acoustic Engineering Inside a Portable Enclosure
Getting meaningful low-end extension from a speaker small enough to fold flat requires careful engineering. The AuraFold uses a passive radiator rather than a bass-reflex port — a better choice for a sealed, weather-resistant enclosure that cannot have an open hole in its cabinet:
– 40 mm full-range driver tuned for clarity at low listening volumes in outdoor environments
– Passive radiator tuned to 80 Hz — extends low-frequency response without a cabinet port
– IPX5 water resistance — protects against rain, spray, and accidental submersion up to 30 seconds
– Bluetooth 5.3 with aptX codec — stable wireless connection up to 15 m in open space
– USB-C charging — 2.5 hours from flat to full; plays during charging
Colourway and Battery Options
The AuraFold is available in three colourways, each in a Standard or Extended battery configuration:
– Forest Green / Standard — 12-hour battery, 410 g total weight
– Forest Green / Extended — 20-hour battery, 490 g total weight
– Slate Blue / Standard — same specification, different colourway
– Slate Blue / Extended — 20-hour battery option
– Sand / Standard — warm neutral colourway
– Sand / Extended — for multi-day outdoor use
TWS stereo mode pairs two AuraFold units. Backed by a two-year warranty.
