Description
The AuraFold NFC Card simplifies the True Wireless Stereo pairing process between two AuraFold Bluetooth speakers from a multi-step button sequence to a two-tap operation. TWS mode, which wirelessly links two AuraFold units in a left-right stereo configuration, requires a specific power-on and pairing sequence. That sequence is easy to follow from the manual and easy to forget three months later. The NFC Card stores the pairing state and executes the sequence automatically when tapped to each speaker in turn.
How NFC Pairing Works
Near Field Communication (NFC) is a short-range wireless protocol used for data exchange between devices in contact or within a few centimetres. The AuraFold NFC Card contains a passive NFC tag — no battery, no active electronics — that stores a pairing command profile and transmits it to the speaker’s NFC receiver when contact is made:
– Passive NFC tag — no battery required in the card; powered by the electromagnetic field of the speaker’s NFC reader
– Compatible with Bluetooth 5.3 TWS pairing on all AuraFold speaker units manufactured from 2024 onward
– Pairing state is stored in the card’s tag memory — not in the speaker firmware, so the card works with any compatible pair
– Tap sequence: tap to Speaker 1, wait for confirmation tone, tap to Speaker 2, wait for stereo lock confirmation
– Once paired, speakers reconnect to each other automatically on next power-on without the card
Practical Notes
The AuraFold NFC Card has the dimensions and flexibility of a standard PVC payment card and can be stored in a wallet, phone case, or rucksack pocket without structural concern. It is not damaged by proximity to other NFC cards or magnetic stripe cards at normal carry distances. The card’s NFC tag is reprogrammable using a standard NFC writer application on any Android phone supporting NFC write operations, for users who want to customise the pairing behavior. Backed by a one-year warranty.
